Debra Burk, RMT/MOT

Debra was born and raised in Olds, Alberta and has now lived in Red Deer for the past 18 years. Growing up she played many sports including Hockey and Ringette. Also she was blessed to Coach Ringette during her senior school years. She spent a lot of time going to chiropractors to manage headaches, TMJ issues along with years of struggling with whiplash symptoms. It was not until a minor MVA that caused further issues that sparked an awareness that alternative health is necessary after finding the most relief with a combination of alternative therapies. So this was definitely part of her future career aspirations.

Debra’s health and wellness journey started while raising her 2 children. Her children both having illnesses that were interesting in nature was definitely a sign she was stating in the right place at the right time. She pursued a career in Massage Therapy which was always her first passion which then opened up so many more avenues and to have the flexibility of a work/life Balance. Debra graduated from Advanced Therapeutic Massage Program in 2009 with Northern Institute of Massage Therapy (NIMT) in Red Deer and 10 years later the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada (MOCC) in 2019. She was a teachers assistant with MOCC for 1 year following. During that time her focus was on having a very diverse holistic background focusing on the body as a whole unit. With being an avid knowledge seeker embracing everything from Bioflex Laser Training, Touch for Health, Myofascial Cupping Therapy, Total Body Balancing, Orthopedic Massage courses, Fascial courses, Graston Technique, and her favorite CranioSacral therapy just to mention a few. Her desire and passion is to find the root cause and to treat the structure and function of the body as a whole using the best possible techniques.

Debra will be offering Manual Osteopathy and therapeutic fascial based treatments and looks forward to working in this alternative based clinic with this amazing team.
