What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) involves a gentle, rhythmical massage on the skin using very light pressure to stimulate the movement of fluid in the body through the lymphatic system.
The objective of MLD is to reduce inflammation, cellular wastes, toxins, antigens, and swelling in the tissue in order to promote healing.
MLD also acts on the nervous system reducing “fight or flight” and allowing the parasympathetic system to regulate. This gives the client a deep sense of relaxation and substantially reduces symptoms of swelling.
MLD is great for anyone who:
Feels swollen
Suffers with repeat colds/flus
Interested in relaxation
Is post surgical (After 8 weeks w/Dr’s note)
Underwent cancer treatment
3 months post chemo, for radiation once healed with Dr’s clearance
